Heritage Lakes Big Bin Event

By on May 9, 2017

Spring is here! We’ve rented a Big Bin and would like to help you out with disposing some items. The event will be taking place on Saturday, May 13th from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at École la Mission.

Big Bin Details

What CAN I put in the bin?

Household and garage items including: plastic bags and packaging, styro-foam, incandescent light bults, toys/equipment, clothes, windows/glass, ceramics, mirrors, yard and construction debris, scrap metal, small furniture (tables, chairs, couches, bed frames no mattresses), BBQs.

What items CAN NOT be put in the bin?

Any type of hazardous materials, medical waste, household cleaners, solvents, wet paint, lacquers, stains, oils, inks/resin, contaminated soil/absorbents, sealed/pressurized tanks, spray cans, batteries, tires, flammable liquids, explosives, electronics, fridges/freezers, big furniture, and mattresses. Many of these items can be disposed of at the St. Albert Recycle Depot.

How much does it cost?

The big bin is free to Heritage Lakes Community Association (HLCA) members! We will be selling memberships at the event for $20 per family to help our local events including this Big Bin Event and others throughout the year.

Is there a limit on how many items I can dispose?

Yes, one large item (couch or bed frame and 4-5 black bags). Please be courteous as this event is for you and your fellow neighbours in Heritage Lakes.

Please note that this event is on a first come first serve basis. Once the Bin is full, the event will be closed. Memberships will be verified before disposal is allowed.

Hope to see many of you out on Saturday!
