Canada Day Pancake Breakfast

By on June 21, 2016

19360771176_ec24d0934f_zIt has become an annual tradition and we hope you will join us for our Canada Day Pancake Breakfast. This year’s event will take place from 9-11 a.m. near École la Mission. We will have food, fun and games for the whole family. The cost of breakfast is $4, and we’ll give you a $1 discount if you bring your own plates and utensils. We have limited seating available so it’s a good idea to bring along a lawn chair as well.

Events like these are a great community builder but they don’t run themselves! We are in need of 8-10 volunteers to help out on the day of the event. We will need help with setting up, serving, supervising games and take down at the end of the event. If you’d be willing to spare an hour or two to help out, please let us know. We love offering these events, but without volunteers, we simply won’t be able to keep doing so.

Hope to see you all there as we celebrate this great country of ours!

Heritage Lakes Gets a Little Free Library!

By on August 24, 2015

Heritage Lakes now has our own Little Free Library.  So what is a Little Free Library?

Little Free Library is a worldwide movement to offer free books housed in small containers to members of the local community.  Our Little Free Library is a re-purposed newspaper box that has been given a new look based on the work of renowned Canadian artist Ted Harrison by our volunteers and the talented artists at 4Cats Arts Studio here in St. Albert.

How do I Use our Little Free Library?

Stop by our Little Free Library and take a book or leave a book.  It’s that simple!  You can also promote our Little Free Library by taking a picture and sharing it on social media:
 Heritage Lakes Community Association
 @heritage_lakes / @4Cats_StAlbert / @LtlFreeLibrary
 littlefreelibrary / 4Cats_StAlbert

Where Do I Find our Little Free Library?

South entrance to Hodgson Park (by École La Mission).  Across from Hardcastle Place on Heritage Drive.

Thanks to 4Cats Arts Studio, City of St. Albert, St. Albert Public Library for support of the Heritage Lakes Little Free Library! And a special thanks to Stacy Giroux for all of her work to make this happen!

Canada Day Pancake Breakfast

By on June 22, 2015

canada_flagOur annual Canada Day Pancake Breakfast will be held on Wednesday, July 1st from 9-11am  near École la Mission. The cost of this event is only $3 if you go green and bring your own plate and utensils, $4 if you happen to forget. You may also want to bring a lawn chair or two as we have a limited number of picnic tables available.

As always we will have games for the kids and this will also be a great opportunity to connect with some of your neighbours. Each year this event seems to grow and so we will do our best to keep up with the community’s insatiable demand for pancakes!

With the growing popularity of this event comes a growing need for volunteers. We are currently short on volunteers and would greatly appreciate any help that people could offer, be it an hour, or two or three! If you are able to volunteer, please let us know!
